POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Coordinator and Student Support Specialist provides all 100, 200 and entry level 500 level teaching and skills preparation for the undergraduate and post-baccalaureate Pre-Medical and Health Professions certificate program.  These courses consist of multiple sections that meet for just one hour/week for each section depending on student cohort size.  All courses are “0” credit with the exception of one “1” credit medical terminology course.  The Clinical Coordinator also contributes to career mentoring and application support.  This position is the PMHPP admissions representative on-campus participating in admissions meetings, meeting with interested undergraduate students and families, and representing the PMHPP at recruiting events, both on and off-campus.  The qualified applicant must possess excellent communication, organization, multitasking, customer service, flexibility, and team work skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is an integral part of the PMHPP team.

This position reports to the Director of the Pre-Medical and Health Professions Program.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides non-tenure track clinical skills instruction for PMHP 101, 102, 103, 201, 203, 205/PBPM 509/510, and PBPM 501, 503.

Tracking student training compliance within all PMHPP courses.

Course assessment and updating, contributing to the curriculum, and particularly to post-baccalaureate curriculum customization with each new cohort.

Engaging in professional development to foster continuous improvement as an instructor, and be up-to-date with all clinical skills and certifications.

Acts as the PMHPP Admissions representative on-campus, and acts as liaison to the Schools
Oversees work of Graduate Assistant who offers teaching support for PMHPP courses.

Assists with the coordination of recruitment and support of the PMHPP Student Ambassadors.

Participates in recruiting events, both on and off campus, as the PMHPP representative.

Meets with interested students and families to discuss the PMHPP, and answer questions.

Provides career mentoring and support to all PMHPP students.

Works as part of the PMHPP team to achieve successful PMHPP outcomes related to the mission of the PMHPP and University.

Completes other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

5+ years of customer service experience

Proficiency in entry-level clinical health care and medical terminology

Demonstrated understanding of health care systems, collaborative practice, interprofessional education, and evidence-based practice

Ability to work well with students by creating a supportive and appropriately rigorous learning environment; availability to PMHPP students outside of class

Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated abilities to model appropriate medical/health professional behaviors

Ability to work as part of a team and to network with other academic units and student-facing offices to serve PMHPP students and achieve PMHPP goals

Attention to detail

Ability to multitask

Microsoft Office suite expertise:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Willingness and ability to utilize new technology relevant to the position

This position may require the occasional evening or weekend work for class or recruiting event.
