Brunswick County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is looking for a Logistics Supervisor to join our team! At Brunswick County, our EMS Department is committed to providing highly responsive, effective, and efficient emergency and non-emergency care to citizens and visitors across Brunswick County and surrounding areas, and the Logistics Supervisor plays a vital role in helping to ensure that happens.
The Logistics Supervisor provides logistical support for EMS to ensure the readiness and ability of the Department to respond to emergency calls by maintaining adequate levels of equipment, supplies, and readiness of fleet and bases. The Logistic Supervisor oversees the Logistics Unit and is responsible for the procurement of supplies and equipment, coordinating maintenance of facilities and vehicles, and serving as a liaison to the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services. Responsibilities include:
Overseeing proper storage of equipment and supplies at EMS warehouse.
Tracking and ordering medical supplies and equipment.
Managing logistics personnel, ensuring daily goals are being met to support EMS operations.
Planning for current and future anticipated needs of EMS service (i.e., identifying improvement opportunities, developing and implementing operating procedures, overseeing maintenance and repairs of equipment and vehicles, etc.).
The work schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. This position is considered an ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE POSITION under County policy and will be required to work to maintain essential operations during inclement weather, non-emergency closure, and/or closure due to a state of emergency/county disaster. The Logistics Supervisor reports directly to the Emergency Medical Services Director.High school diploma (or equivalent) AND three (3) to five (5) years’ progressively responsible experience in Emergency Medical Care and/or logistics management, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including calculators, computers, copiers, etc. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
