Description
Contributes to the comprehensive Crystal River Fire Department. Requires the ability to be an advocate for patient care, performs technical and specialized work functions associated with providing quality medical care to all members of the community in the event of medical emergencies, the prevention, control, and suppression of fire, natural disasters, hazardous situations, environmental emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, and other life and death situations.Responds to fire alarms and emergency medical service calls with other personnel, lays and connects hose, raises and climbs ladders, searches structures to locate persons trapped or injured, uses hand tools to ventilate structures, operates motor vehicles, administers first aid, performs CPR and other emergency medical procedures as required.
Carry out all instructions and orders given by line officers.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in decision making and all phases of responsibilities.
Performs other duties as required.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license • Valid Certification as a State of Florida Firefighter II/EMT • Satisfactorily pass a criminal background check • Have the ability to pass a physical/medical evaluationMANDATORY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: The following training requirement must be complete within the first year. • Hazardous Materials Operations Level • Incident Command (1-100, 1-200, 1-700, 1-800) • Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
