Barstow Community College invites applications for our part-time faculty applicant pool for the following Emergency Medical Technologies (EMT) Instructor.
This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time (up to 67%), substitute, temporary, or hourly assignments on an as needed basis. Part-Time faculty applications will remain in the pool for one year. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview.
Departments will refer to the pool of applications on file, as needed, to fill temporary assignments. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies.
Assignment
- Applications for Part-Time Instructors are always being accepted for assignments at the main campus as well as teaching on-line and at off-campus sites. Assignments are at the discretion of the District.
Representative Duties
- Instruct students in the assigned discipline
Minimum Qualifications- Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience. OR the equivalent.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse, academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Desired Qualifications- Demonstrated proficiency in teaching at the community college level.
- Knowledge about or experience working with students who are underrepresented in higher academia, with the goal of reducing equity gaps.
- Teaching experience that reflects culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Successful experience teaching Emergency Medical Technology at the college or university level.
- A strong "generalist background" and teaching experience in the field of Emergency Medical Technology.
- Experience using a learning management system (LMS)
- Experience in developing and revising curriculum, assessing student learning outcomes, and participating in program review documents.
